thats not what happened... the girl Deb came over to sell her keychains to napoleon, and she said she was saving money to go to college. Kim, napoleon's brother, said "your mom goes to college" and she ran away, leaving her "crap on his porch".
i think it's just a stupid statment intended to make fun of her... and perhaps she is poor and so her family didn't go to college?

It's an immature response to something. Like "that picture is strange." The person who liked it would say "your mom is strange!!!" It is supposed to be a stupid/funny comment. It isn't usually considered insulting.
But in this case, the uncool person trying to be cool ended up coming off as stupid, because the comment made no sense.

because its the stupidest comeback you can think of
"your mom goes to college" its like a kids thing if you think about it
like where some one says
"man that was good" and then someone responds by saying
"your mom was good last night!"

people think its funny because nopoleon is being dumb, and thats funny to some people. the only thing thats funny to me is whene nopoleans brother says, 'nopolean, dont be jelouse that iv been chatting online with babes ALL NIGHT LONG."LOL!

It was a stupid comback, and the director intended it to be. I didn't understand it when I first saw it, because it didn't seem to fit the scene at all.

he was only saying it because the guy he doesn't like said "do you go to college" (or something like that). And he can't think of anything else to say, so he says "your mom goes to college", just to say something about his mom...
