It wouldn't surprise me if they did and had Daffy Duck as the minister in charge. But I believe that one of the qualifications for being a member of government is to be daft of mind.

I don't think the problem is generating ideas.
I think the problem is "the decider".
Prior to 9/11 I would have characterized him as goofy but relatively harmless. Sure he was already on his way to implementing ridiculous economic policies that favored the rich and had little regard for fiscal responsibility. Then for a while I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought the problem was that he was being manipulated by a handful of people around him (Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.). But since he got Jim Baker and company to make recommendations and now seems to be pretty much doing the opposite, I've finally accepted that he's simply lost it. He is out of touch wth what's happening. He has some unfounded, poorly defined vision of himself as some great protector or something. Protector of what though? Of Christianity? Of Conservatism? Of Democracy? He's doing more harm than good to all those institutions as he represents the worst traits of them.
I'm looking forward to inauguration day 2009.

All governments have dart and silly ideas!
Even the decent and good ideas that go before them are torn apart and re-shaped into something that turns out daft or just incomprehensible.

Hey, lets not regulate how many immigrants come to the uk even though we are critically short of housing, Limited growth in employment, only a tiny island overpopulated and have roads with 20 times the amount of traffic on them they were built for. Yes fantastic. Come to the uk now its a pile in! Hope youre not claustrophobic though.
We have a party in the uk called the monster raving looney party. Tho to be fair their policies are modest compared to what
Labour think up.
Being in this country you have now
1 no chance of a decent pension when you retire
2 no chance of affording a mortgage when you start work
average age for this is now 34!!! and rising.
3 no chance of paying off your student debts inless you emmigrate
yea thanks labour all the things I ever wanted, wheres my passport.

One thing's for sure : it's the lunatics who are in charge.
