Depending on how bold you are about shopping for girls clothes, I have a couple of suggestions. If you're nervous, go to a Wal-Mart or Target and you'll be able to find everything you need, including make-up & shoes. But if you're more adventurous, I suggest going to a mall & when you see something that you like, go try it to & then buy it.

Picking out your lingerie, shoes and clothes is one of fun parts about being a crossdresser/ transvestite, so if your question is what to where that should be the easy part. What turns you on or makes you feel pretty. Pick up women’s fashion mags for ideas.
As far as colors I would go with black at first till you build up your wardrobe. Its a easy color to find, makes you look thinner and plus everything matches.
Once you get a basic set of outfits going you can expand out in to other colors.
The first thing you will need to do is find out what your dress, skirt panty and shoe size is. This is a good web site: http://www.mindspring.com/~karen.anne.taylor/clothingsizes.html
If your question is where to get to get them department stores, malls are good ideas. You can always say you are buying for your g/f, wife etc. Big department stores where you can pick up some woman things about with some male clothes as a cover is a great place to shop.
A woman only store (Victoria Secret, Bebe ) is harder because you can not try them on first. And you will want to try them on first because only thing more embarrassing than buying the other gendered clothes is explaining why you are returning them.
I have bought most of my dresses and skirts at Goodwill and other thrift stores. I have taken them into the changing room with out anyone batting a eye. Plus if you don’t like what you bought you probably did not spend much. I have also been told that a lot of cd/tv shop in thrift stores so the people there are use to it.
Another idea is buying online. There are a lot of website catering men who what to be woman and are happy to help you.
Ebay is a great place too.
One last thing, I wear a large woman’s shoe size, 13, but I have found that Payless at some stores carries them and they are inexpensive.
I hope this helps and have Fun!

It really depends on the type of body you have. I usually try to go for the best quality of lingerie, so my bras are from La Perla. They are beautiful, and they last long, though they are very expensive.
What skirt to wear depends on your top and what you're going for. I hear pencil skirts are back in style.

this is hard to say because i don't know your size your style, your height. tis is all important fo the right fit. if you are not ashamed you can go to any store they will let you try on the clothing. if you are ashamed you can go to a small shop the will sometimes let you come in after hours and shop
