Love is free--it comes from God. Yet, we as humans, judge people, places and things. Have we forgotten the golden rule? To Love one another. If this is true, why is hate so abundant?

Love and hate are both means of survival. One is co-operative survival, the other is competitive survival.

It's a mistaken notion that when resources are scarce, competition is the surer way to survive. Many management games have proven the exact opposite. But do we ever learn?

Its basic human psychology. There is an answer somewhere in your question, so let's pick it apart and change it around.

"Love is free--it comes from God."

Okay, so what to you is God and what is love?

To me, there is no verifiable proof for the existence of God.

Love is a psychological emotion we attribute to surrounding friends and family that helps stabilize social circles.

"Yet, we as humans, judge people, places and things"

Granted, but this almost always happens to others outside our little social circles.

When we were still monkeys, we had to make quick and decisive judgements seeing as how predators could jump out of nowhere in the jungle and eat you up so we had to differentiate between what was a carnivorous saber-tooth and what was a harmless mouse. It also helped us classify which nuts and berries were good to eat and which ones were poisonous.

We cary this prejudice tendency with us today, instinctually, by subconsciously categorizing, labelling, and judging anyone or anything that could possibly be a threat.

A way of overcoming this is by merely acknowledging this fact, and that alone will allow our conscience to question these instinctual prejudices.

Understand, there is no such thing as a "golden rule" or absolute truth, handed down from the divine to us to follow. Moralities are as divine as we believe them to be. The only pragmatism they offer is drowned in a sea of dogmatic coercion and oppression which people these days are beginning to stray away from.

People all think they are smarter than one another and that might be true, but a lot of people try to take advantage of that fact and we all see the results. Looking in the mirror and doing the right thing are lost on some people. That little voice inside of us that most of us listen to is non-existent in the people that strive for power and wealth and the result is what we have.

Love is free but we don't always surrender ourselves to such things. People try to find their way and often don't get there the first chance or any time afterwards. But in life theres second chances, in God Forgiveness.

The Golden Rule is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Unfortunately, not everyone believes in being kind and decent. There are bad people in all walks of life, all religions, all political parties.

Hate and unnecessary judgment represent the opportunities of growth. 'Made In the Image of God" means choosing to use our opportunities of growth for the good. And choosing fo the good is growing closer to the Image ...if we will it.

People are not taking the time to know one another. It is easy to demonize people you don't know. It is difficult to demonize someone when you know their humanity.
