From within Internet Explorer, go to Help > About Internet Explorer and look for "Version".

Under the Help menu (on the far right), choose About. A dialog will appear with the version of IE you are using. Most likely it's version 6 but Microsoft will be forcing people to upgrade to version 7 in a couple of months. Version 7 has additional features like Firefox already has but in my experience has more bugs than ever. I highly recommend that you use Firefox instead. You can get it at http://getfirefox.com.

Start it. Then go to Help -> About Internet Explorer. That's it

Go to 'Help' in the tool bar then select 'about internet explorer' then look at the version number. Your done

Goto 'Help'
At the bottom 'About internet explorer'
It will tell you the version number there.
