they don't need bluetooth, or mp3 players or any fancy-schamcy gimmicky crap. they want something inexpensive, i think a pre-paid would be good but am not really sure. ideas?

Get em a Jitterbug, i think it is made with the elderly in mind. Kind of an older wiser generation "starter phone".

Buy them a cheap version of Nokia Mobil phones.

Nokia is by far the most "user friendly" kind of phones. A few models ago, all you need is to press one only button to answer a call to make a call and to search a phone.

And....the cheaper you go....less features you will have....easiest to use.

prepaid is a good idea b/c usually the phones r like dirt cheap so easy to use but prepaid isnt worth it in the long run trust me

buy couple of phones from t-mobile and use their prepaid cards for example 400min - $50
