You put a little on a cotton ball and swipe it all over your oily spots on your face. Toner sort of absorbs oil and helps keep your face clean.

But...I wouldnt recommend toner. It can dry out your face, or even worse, make it oilier. Your face will produce too much oil, and acne gets worse. Instead, just use a gentle clenser every day. This keeps your face clean and moisturized and the same time.

WHile LilDiva means well, a toner cannot 'tighten pores'. Nothing can actually do this, just as nothing can 'open' or 'close' your pores. It also doesn't kill bacteria (Unless it's pure rubbing alcohol) or even out your skin tone (tone is colour).

Technically, a toner traditionally prepares the skin for moisturizer or treatment products. Alcohol or witch hazel based products can help remove residual oils that the cleanser missed, but not all physicians recommend them for this purpose. The reason is that they can also overly dry your skin out, and then your skin may produce more oil to catch up.

Also remember that just because your cotton ball or pad comes back with stuff on it, it doesn't mean your face wasn't clean. It's also thought that a toner can strip the skin's natural and necessary oils - and that's what you are seeing on the cotton ball.

A toner isn't necessary for most people, but if you want to try one, look for one that is alcohol free and non-drying. And ALWAYS follow with a moisturizer. If you have oily skin, look for an oil free non-comedogenic product that is lightweight and contains sunscreen.

Good luck to you.: )

Sorry about the neg - my answer is correct, but I have stalkers who go through my answers and neg them all. I know, childish antics. But, neglected children tend to be this petty.

you put a small amount on a cotton ball and wipe on your face.
the type that i use is by biore, and it will tingle or have a cooling sensation when applied.

however, i dont think toner is very good for your skin when used alone or in large amounts. i found that when i used only the toner, it made me break out, and it continued for almost a month before i stopped using it. it made my face OILYER.

good luck!

it tightens your pores basically and washes of the remains of a cleanser. Just put some on a cotton ball and pass it all over your face gently, do not rub.. And avoid your eyes. You can skip it if you have normal, sensitive, or dry skin.

You apply it with a cotton ball and you wipe it across your face and your neck. It helps to remove any left over dirt/bacteria.. It is also used to even out the color of your skin and keep it in a nice and tight condition. Perfect for using before applying foundation and such.

USE IT WITH COTTON AFTER YOU RINSE YOUR FACE FROM WASHING IT. YOU'D BE SURPRISED WHAT IT PICKS UP FROM YOUR CLEAN FACE.
