using the english in the pool game will improve my chances of winning but im just not sure how to use it.

English is used for spin...if you add left side english when taking a shotthe ball that is struck will move toward the right and the cue ball will move to the left...this is good in getting position to make the next shot. You have to use it to practice and get good with it. Low English is probably the most used...It will bring the cue ball back to you so you can take another shot from approximately the same location.

English will make the cueball spin, much like in bowling. IE, if you put the english to the bottom, it will 'spin' backwards, and backroll after striking another ball. experimentation is the best way to learn the english and how to use it
