He and Demi Moore (as well as some other Hollywood-types like Madonna and Lindsay Lohan) are followers of the Kabbalah Centre, which is a weird bastardization of Jewish mysticism. Most Jews would say that these people are not truly Jewish and that their religion is more similar to cultish activities like Scientology than actual religion but followers of the Kabbalah Centre might consider themselves Jewish.
It's a tough question, but the answer is no, he's not Jewish the same way that your friend at school might be Jewish.

can just "be" a religion. Converting to Judaism is a long, thoughtful, in-depth process, used to sort out tool bags like them.
