Man I think heavy metal is one of the greatest forms of music ever created..period. Really..it is. Lately though I feel kind of stupid and dumb for listening to it because I hardly know anyone else that does.. is that kind of weird?

Oh Dude, do not say that. You are not alone dude, i am with you in Heavy metal.
As you said heavy metal is the greatest music ever create in this world, i also thought like that, this music is really a very very energic music that i love so very much. heavy metal is my life, my breath and my heart.
When you listen to music, then what you listen is not just temporary thing that come to your ear then go away in seconds, the music will flow to your heart and then you feel the music and you then judge the music with your heart that the music is so nice and cool to listen.
So just follow your heart and there is nothing stupid or dumb to listen to heavy metal, cause that music can give you spirit and things to know WHO YOU ARE. And remember YOU ARE YOU.

That's not weird, stupid, or dumb. I have a couple friends that listen to heavy metal, and I listen to hard rock and a few metal bands. Just think--the others are the weird ones because they are the ones listening to the not-so-great music like rap and pop and all that...

Trust me. Heavy metal is what made the 80's the 80's && the hair but w/e. Someone out there listens to it. It'll just take some digging.

Don't feel stupid or dumb about listening to the type of music you like. My friends band knows that I am not into metal music, but come to support them. Everytime I joke and say "I wish you played more like my favorite band Duran Duran," the band always has something nasty to say about my music but I don't care! Go on the internet, you will see there are plenty of metal lovers out there. Try to introduce some of the mild stuff to your friends. I don't know what groups you are into, but I like some Six Feet Under, and stripped raped and strangled by Cannibal Corpse. Visit my friends sight, demenxia.com see what you think. Metal is bigger in Europe, but try to support it here!

Music is a very personal choice. Never worry about what other people think. Listen to what makes you happy.
BTW, I'm OLD and I love heavy metal. I listen to most any kind of music.

Don't feel bad, heavy metal is totally awesome, and you shouldn't feel dumb, the people listening to shallow music like Fergie and Justin Timberlake should feel dumb. There are tons of awesome bands that I love that none of my friends like, and I don't really care, as long as I like them, that's all that's important! Don't stop listening to metal, it's goooood for the soul... ^_^

nope, i also listen to heavy metal, even to death metal, it's just that you see a lot of advertisement on the tv that promotes the next boy look, the clean and newly shaved (his beard and mustache)look, and girls get it. that 's only on tv man... in reality there are a lot of people dig this kinda stuff...
