yeah, ducati's twin engine will deliver a smoother powerband in e corners & e chances e tyres will give way around e apex is less likely. this means that during e corners, e cbr might have to accelerate slowly during e bends compared to e duc's breezing through. ducatis can get away from e bends with a slight advantage as they can accelerate much earlier compared to e cbr's. ducati brought e twin engine back to recognition with its multiple manufacturers' award-winning 916. but on another note, inline four definitely can squeeze out more power than a twin engine.

The Ducati "L" Twin has a much different powerband than the Honda Inline 4. The L twin is a torque monster of an engine, with a very linear torque curve. The Honda only gains its torque after hitting high revs.
Are we talking drag race or road course? In a drag race the Honda most likely will win. As for a road course. Ducati has Dominated WSBK (World SuperBike) for the last 10 years.
The Desmosedici RR is the worlds fastest street legal bike, once it hits the street this year.

OKAY....time for the right answer.....
Whoever mentioned the difference in engine, good call. The inline four will have quicker accel, and higher top end. HOWEVER, the ducati has a much lower center of gravity. Evenly matched, (equally talented riders) the ducati would kill the rr through the curves, and the rr would fly by the ducati in the straightaways, ducati's are made for handling, honda's are made for engine performance

Both are actually Good, ducati Tops 182 mph and Honda Cbr tops 181 mph but which every can hit 0-60 first will probably win but ducatis are high performance bikes and the ducati will most likely win!!! And it matters if the rider knows what he is doing

Unless you're a VERY experienced rider with a racing background - you won't notice the difference. Even riders for magazines (better than you and me) only get +/-0.5% on lap times between superbikes as these.
The Ducati may be faster only because you - the rider - will be lighter by about $6000.

Whos riding them, where are they riding them.
Someone like Loris Caparossi on a 250cc could probably race both into the ground if you and i were riding them.
Essentially they could each be faster than the other in different circumstances.
