I was just wondering what engines might fit without major mods having to be done to the frame and motor mounts.

2.3L Ford Ranger engine(96+).
Then all you would have to do is install the computer and fuel injection
1987 Mazda 626 turbo engine

You can Make anything fit... Cut and weld...
But a Swap is just B2200 1987 to 1992
Little modified is B2600i 1989 to 1992 recommend Better clutch
Mounts modified but same transmission 1987 to 1990 Rotor Motor, but the truck is a little heavy...

Easy American Swaps are Ford 289/302 or V8 Chevy also transmission at the same time.

Rear end is a Limited slip in most 1988 models when you make your drive shaft, U joints ends. Change the fluid also to GM Limited Slip lube or Lucas Limited...

you either have a really bad vaccum leak, or the throttle cable is not routed correctly. Pull off the air filter, and have someone push the accellerator pedal to the floor. see if you can move the carb linkage back any farther by hand. If so, check the routing, or see if the cable can be shortened by an adjustment. It is something that you just did, by changing the carb. Look closely at your work, and double check everything. replacing the carb will not cause something else to break. dont over complicate. did you hook up the vaccum line to the distributor for the vaccuum advance? that will slow it down.
