Keep the area clean. To make them go away faster use witch hazel (it's pretty cheap at the drug store). To ease the redness use Visine for eyes. It can lessen the redness if you apply a few drops and cover it with a bandaid for a little while. You can also put ice on it a few times a day if the area is swollen.
I hope one of these suggestions work. Be careful with over the counter acne treatments. If you put too much on it can dry the zit out but may make it look more red and irritated.
Good luck!

Witch Hazel, honest its less aggressive than toothpaste ( which burns my sensitive skin) or Tea Tree. It is mildly astringent so will get all the yuck out of your skin. I use it daily as a toner and don t get many spots. Plus its cheep your pharmacist will sell an own brand version which you can put on to cotton wool to use. Its also a good makeup remover.
Try not to touch the spot with your fingers as you'll only spread the bacteria around and add more, even if this means you have to sit on your hands.
If its hormonal see you doctor as you may need medication to ease the problem (Like with acne).

Well spots only really get red when you try and squeeze out the puss or they have alot of pressure
.
Spots are just best left alone, give the toothpaste a chance,
If you put the toothpaste on ur face in a steamy shower, thats the best time to do that, because your pores will be open,
then you feel your face nipping like mad :p, thats when you know its doing somthing.
Try and drink loads of water too.
You could also get a sterilised needle, and puncture the spot CAREFULLY, then put tree tea oil over the spot, or somthing with alcohhol in it like aftershave , deoderant, and that should disinfect it.
it will probably scab over and start to heal.

Always make sure your hands and skin are clean. If the spots are yellow and inflamed use 100% Tea Tree oil on a cotton bud for 2 days. If spots are just red and inflamed 100% Lavender oil is better. Lavender has tissue healing properties but both oils are anti inflammatory.

Im gonna assume you are female, the best thing really is to leave them alone. STOP wearing any make up, as this is irritating them more. I know some women cant bear to go without make up, but slapping on concealer or foundation to hide them is NOT helping!
Thee are a lot of lotions and zit creams on the market, I work in a pharmacy and see people trying them all without much success in all honesty. I always advise no make up, wash with plain water, no soap or facial scrubs etc.
If you have really really bad acne, pop along to your doctor and he can suggst a few other things, but if its just a case of a few zits, leave well alone.

It doesnt clear them up, but it helps get rid of the redness if you put whitening eye drops on a cotton bud and dab it on the spot, or soak the end of a cotton bus with it and put itt on the spot for about 5 mins

Leave them alone. Maybe soothe them with spot cream but once you get them there's no point meddling with them or they'll just get even angrier. Get yourself a good cleanser and toner, make sure your face is clean and take your make up off (if you wear it). Dont touch your face, i have a habit of squeezing and i really wish id stop. Keep your hands washed and relax! They will go on their own. Best of luck.

Go to a pharmacy and buy Galderma cream with 10% Benzyl peroxide. With repeated application over a few days, it will dry them up, reduce the redness and eventually make them disappear. (Kills the bacteria and the environment in which bacteria breeds.)
