rent a dolly from u haul. just make sure the transfer case is in neutral for the 4 wheel drive. if it is electronic 4 wheel drive or automatic you can put the front on the dolly and take the drive shaft out to the rear. very simple, this way you do not hurt the drive train at all. good luck.

Put it on a trailer. If you use a tow dolly, you will need to drop the rear driveshaft so that it is not turning the transfer case and transmission while you are towing. Go slow, and be careful of the transmission on the 1500 overheating. Good luck!

I would get a car trailer that you could fit the whole truck on. I don't like putting a vehicle in neutral and pulling it on it's own wheels. This might be the cheapest, but you might do some damage to your transmission, plus you put 450 miles of wear on your tires. I would see about renting a car trailer.

Is the S10 manual or automatic? If its automatic I suggest a car trailer, if its a manual, make sure your 4WD is disengaged (place transfercase in 2wd and backup in a straight line to disengage front hubs, place transmission in neutral), use a towbar and everytime you stop check the connections of your towbar to make sure nothing is coming loose.

I would put it on a trailer.[U-HAUL rented, etc,}
The extra money spent renting a small trailer would give me the piece-of -mind that I would not have to spend $$$ for repairs to
either vehicle at the end of the trip
