I'm not a father and this obviously isn't a "practical" questoin but i saw on the boards here a questoin about "why would a man be attracted to his daughter" and it sort of got me thinking "why not?". We all simply assume that it's wrong, some sort of abuse, exploitation, perversion, etc but i don't think anyone is really able to formulate a logical argument for why it's wrong.... anyone?
sorry to jilt people's dispositions. I'm more of a philosopher than anything else. Trying to understand the abstract of it.

it is wrong for so many reasons, besides the bovios social aspects of it.... perversion, pedophilia, incest. I will try to throw some out there, for philosophy sake. First, the aspect of power, a father is an authority figure whom responsibiltiy it is to keep a child safe and protected, sleeping with a child is in no way keeping them safe or protected. Also a person in authority should not use their power to make the people who rely on them for life do their will. Now lets talk about the genetic aspects of it... a daughter is made from her father biologically, and so sleeping with your own child would be as if you have reproduced for the purpose of your own pleasure .. made your own toy... thats wrong. I think a lot of poeple can formulate really good reasons why a father should not sleep with his own daughter..

A logical argument for why it is wrong: The daughter could be traumatized, sometimes for life and may be unable to have a normal relationship with her husband or even have male friends EVER. If you are a philosopher, rather than a pervert yourself, you would already know that abusing a child is very very improper, illegal, etc. and the father would find himself in jail when he is prosecuted for child endangerment, sexual assault, and probably many other things. It is illegal to force a daughter to have the father's child.

Let me put this question to you - What's wrong with a mother sleeping with her son? Now let me tell you this because I've seen it.
I knew a girl who's old man used lie in bed with her an tell her constantly how beautiful she was, kind creepy coming from the old man eh? How did that girl turn out, really quiet and extremely reserved; she'd go to a party and mainly cling to her husband.
I had an uncle who made the rounds with his daughters, he had six, one of the daughters because she was his favorite was rushed into marriage, she's divorced now, I don't know the reasons I guess he cheated, well that's neither here nor there.
Now to the bit about the guy. Oh yes I know a guy who's old lady would make him lie in bed with her and fondle her breasts because she couldn't find a man. The bad part is he wasn't able to properly able to function with a woman Pretty sick eh?
So picture this, your dad and or mom, mainly your dad is your protector and that protector who is supposed to be protecting you from all those bad happenings, and bad boys and or girls out there, all of sudden do that number to you.
Final question: How would YOU feel?

i can see your challenge. it truly is great you've a thanks to artwork round this yet what if this ends for some reason or had not been a thanks to exercising consultation? some needy youngsters are very scared and timid, others might want to be indignant and confusing to handel. frequently they're placed and monitored very well. Because it IS exploitation...how can you not see that? Children are powerless, and one's offspring is dependent on that parent to nurture and protect them. If you mean in the context of an older daughter...that nurturing role continues, and it is belied by a sexual relationship. That is the social/psychological reasons it. In terms of genetics and propagation of the species, it is insupportable, and not genetically viable (which may be the real reason for the taboo, after all.)

What's not wrong with it? The way I look at it is why is it wrong for a man to sleep with a child, why is it wrong for a grown person to sleep with a child? It's just morally repugnant. That's the easiest way to answer it, it's just a disgusting moral situation and I think there is a difference between thinking your child is attractive and being attracted to them. The latter is an illness.

Our culture is currently experiencing a wave of "pedophobia" after the "homophobia" diminished. As for actual attraction, affection is part of sexual love, yet sexual love is not necessarily a part of affection. The sexual component would be repressed in interactions with non-target females. In the absence of an appropriate target, sexual love might find an improprietous outlet (eg a child). As to why it is wrong, it is wrong because it is punished. It is wrong because it has to be kept secret in order to avoid punishment. And it is wrong because it creates a weird situation for the child (the child deserves to mature in a normal fashion without interference from sexually frustrated adults).

Actually i find your question very interesting because as strange as it seems i thought about it some time ago.I am not a father(lol being 19 and all:)) and i do think it's sick to sleep with your daughter but still...don't you think it's like sleeping with your younger sister?I don't have a sister neither so i don't understand it but when i've asked some of my friends who have sisters(who are good looking) "would you sleep with your sister" they give me that maybe scared look and say "don't ... ever .... say ... that ... again.It's like asking me if i'd sleep with my mother" i guess they are right.But cousins are another thing :).

its a wierd cos that would be like the mum slept with the same guy as the daughter and the daughter is part of the guy. i fink the guy shud onli b attracted to his wife lol :) can fink his kids are attractive but being attracted to them is just odd cos the relationship should not be a sexual one

Your question should provide your answer. Why would it be alright for him to do this? Sure a father can be attracted to his daughter but NOT in a sexual way.
