I have always had heavy periods. The last couple of months have been unbearable, the amount of blood and the pain, it's not cramps, but a different pain. Last month I bled for 22 days. I don't have a regular doctor, I don't have insurance and I go to the health department, where I see whoever is on duty that day. I am getting insurance information from my job but for the time being, if I get to bleeding too bad would they look at me like an idiot if I went to the hospital?
I use super plus tampax, how many would you say are way too many and I should go. At the moment I am having to change every 10 min. or less.

I am not pregnant, haven't been, and as a matter of fact, haven't had sex in months.

Definitely go see someone about this ASAP. This is not normal at all. Heavy is one thing, but it shouldn't last that long. A large tampon on a heavy day can last me 4 hours! Please don't wait - get it checked out.

You may want to consider starting birth control pills because the regulate and lighten the period, as well as majorly reduce the pain.

well it sounds like a major problem and i know how a bad period like that is. its totally not wrong to go to the hospital for help, theyre the last people who will look at you like youre an idiot, all they want to do is fix whatever problem you have. just make sure its a good hospital and im sure you can get the help you need. you should probably jsut ask if theres anything you can take to help with the pain and heavy flow. sometimes they even prescribe birth control for out of control periods.

good luck!

Have you changed your BC pill lately? How old are you? You need to go to a doctor as soon as possible. It could be anything from a hormonal imbalance to a tumor to cancer. So you really need to see a doctor and have some tests run to find out. In the mean time, try ibuprofin for the pain and try using both a tampon and a pad to prevent embarrassing leaks.

you should go to the hospital and no they would not look at you funny the only reason they would look at you funny is if you let it get too far and it becomes a serious issue. hospitals are to help you if they do look at you weird you could sue.

iwsh you the best.
