I had an x that wouldn't take no for an answer - so I invested in an answer machine to screen my calls, and just used to delete all the messages he left.

Have you done anything similar

I do it now because I've remarried and moved to a different country. Don't know everyone that would call my new hubby so I let the machine answer if I don't know the caller. Then he gets the message first hand when he gets home. :)

The Thornbirds: A saga that span 40 years. Anything by Tom Robbins: Makes you laught, but also gives you a new perspective on some of lifes more interesting issues. A prayer for Owen Meany: One of John Irving's most fabulous books. Discusses the merrits of fate. The Kite Runner: Truly inspirational.

Yes I have, my brothers bunny boiler gold digging girlfriend is a psycho and started harassing me so I invested in an answering machine, reported her to the police when she'd left several threatening messages and thankfully that stopped her, they are a god send at times answering machines.

We screen all our calls but some friends tend to take the piss out of us & mock our answering message. It means you pay for more calls as you always have to ring people back (if you actually do want to speak to them) but it means you don't have to talk to salesmen etc who seem to get your number even if you use Telephone Preference as we do & always phone when you're cooking, eating or watching something really good on TV

Of course!
That's why there's Caller ID and Email filters, too!

Yea, ditto with my x -- you don't NEED to deal with some people.
