Zidane is a big legend because he can play as play maker or behind the stirker ... play free kicks in a very nice way ... in addition to his amazing skills ... the only player who defeated the dream team of Brazil and showed the brazilian who is the boss ... and the most expensive player in the soccer history (( Real Madrid payed 65 Million dollar to get him ))
Also he showed the human side in his final game aganist Italy when he gave Marco Matteratzi a headbutt because Marco called his sister a -- terroist ... I don't know but it was something racist aganist his origin -- so he gave Marco a head butt and it gave Zidane an extra fame in the soccer history and respect for the algerians and world as well

Because at the height of his career, he really made an impact for his team. A truly creative talent; he can set-up goals and make them too. Most especially if the team is lacking in offensive finishing, he will usually take the reins and make the needed goal himself. How he does those things? Simple answer: Unbelievable talent. Before Ronaldinho, there 's already Zidane. And now that Zidane is bidding farewell to top-flight football, it's a good thing that the void that he will leave in the beautiful game will be replaced in the form of Ronaldinho. Just a personal comment: Though Zidane and Ronaldinho are very talented (probably two of the most talented ever) their styles are still quite unique from each other and that's what we'll miss regarding Zidane. What are Zidane's trademarks? His flawless spin with the ball and the way he catches and controls the ball from flight with his feet and bring it "in-sync" with his motion. Too damn good!

In the 110th minute of the World Cup final against Italy, Zidane was sent off for headbutting Marco Materazzi in the chest in an off the ball incident. The two players exchanged words before Zidane began to walk away from him. Materazzi then said something to Zidane, who turned around, made a run-up and head-butted Materazzi in the chest, sending him to the ground.
Zinedine Yazid Zidane (born 23 June 1972 in Marseille, France), popularly nicknamed Zizou, is a former French football player of Kabyle ethnicity, whose parents immigrated to France from Algeria. Zidane starred for both the French national team and four European club teams, concluding with Real Madrid, during an eighteen-year career in which he was listed as one of the greatest players in football history.

He's famous for a bunch of reasons. One of them is for having led France to the gold back in 1998! He's a world-class legendary football magician! And he's great at playing around with them Brazilian players. Yup, and the most recent reason that makes him even more famous is cuz he gave that dirty Italian scum Materazzi a head-butt on the chest! That was hilarious!!!

He was an amazing ifrench soccer player but most of his fame comes from the headbutt he put on Marco Materazzi in the world cup final last year. He retired and was kicked from the game for it. NO one realizes he was a great player, just a great head butter.
