They don't control anything. A slim majority can accomplish pretty much nothing. They don't have override powers so they have to sit and watch as Bush continues his failed polies with no chance of stopping them.

A "majority" looks great on paper, but it doesn't mean much, especially on the important issues.

Well, Democrats have a SLIGHT majority, but Bush needs to sign whatever passes through there. The Senate is technically tied, but the 2 independants caucus with Democrats.

Some of them were saying this a long time ago, ignorant of the fact that democrats weren't going to convene until today (which they did). Now democrats do control Congress, however.

because of the fact random polls in August are not how we choose human beings in Congress. To mean that maximum voters are that dumb, that they are no longer able to look on the applicants of their state, and vote for who suited suits their perspectives and somewhat vote in keeping with usual ballots is kinda stupid. to no longer point out, extra ex-republicans call themselves independents at the instant. look on the tea occasion, in the wall highway magazine poll previously this 12 months.. they asked them and that they are 70%+ made up of "independents" yet ask them who they voted for, and is like 80% voted McCain, Bush, Bush, in the previous 3 elections.
