What year and engine are we talking about here?

From what I get so far, I am thinking the choke is not working correctly.

Pop the hood and remove the air cleaner. On the top of the carburator opening there is a flap..this is the choke..is it open straight up and down? if so...don't touch it yet....get in the truck and press the gas once to the floor and release. Now go look at the flap again..did it close?

If not,... the choke is not working...there is a choke thermostat on the side of the carb that needs to be replaced or adjusted...or your linkages are stuck from dirt and moisture...try cleaning them and us a light lube on them..penitrating oil etc...

If the flap DID close, get back in and try to start the truck if it starts and stalls the choke pull-off might be opening too much or too soon, some are adjustable with a screw driver...the older ones you had to bend the linkages...

Good luck..

Definitely...what kind of truck. If it has a carb, then I'm saying older. Trucks that old didn't have temperature related problems with the tranny. They did, however get sticky valves in the tranny. New valve body is 100 bucks or so, or go to a junkyard and buy a tranny. Good luck.

on account which you probably did not incorporate make, kind or 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, we can in undemanding terms speculate. appears like a gas-appropriate situation. If it has a carburetor, i could be watching the automated choke. If it has a working laptop or computing gadget and gas injection, first sparkling the injectors and if the topic persists, you will might desire to take it to somebody who can examine the computing gadget codes, which will point out any sensor issues.

What kind of truck? Could be several things. Bad sensor ie> the throttle position sensor stuck...bad vacuum sensor to the tranny...which explains the temp/shift problem....or just wrong throttle idle setting if it is an older vehicle. Really need more info to pinpoint it.
