Vanessa Minillo openly admitted she was Polynesian and not filipino. People have attempted to say Vanessa originally sayed she was filipino, even though the sources that reported that she was are from low profile asian articles and haven't proven to be very reliable with their information. Vanessa was born in the phillipines, as are quite a few people who aren't filipino. So why are people jumping down her throat because she says she's polynesian?

Vanessa is polynesian, always has been. She doesn't even look filipino. That's why a lot of people who didn't know much about her thought she was a mulatto of some sort. The reason people are upset is because for once they thought they could finally claim a celebrity has having the same heritage as them. People assumed she was filipino because she was born in the phillipines. That's how the rumor got started, that and an interview in some asian magazine that Vanessa was a false interview to begin with.
Vanessa is polynesian and irish, always has been.

Who knows, maybe her mom is part Filipino and Polynesian. Besides, Polynesia is a group of 1000 islands in the pacific and so is the Philippines (over 7000 islands, I think), so it's easy to confuse them. Some people even consider certain islands in Phil. to be part of Polynesia.

she is annoying as hell...and it has nothing to do with her ethnicity and her dating nick lachey (although the primary reason of people hating on vanessa is because she dates nick lachey.) WHO CARES ABOUT RACE AND ETHNICITY.
