use a good 1/2 inch drive air impact wrench and it should come right off. it is left to loosen.

A very powerful impact wrench (1000 ft-lbs) might do it. Using extensions will reduce the amount of torque on an impact wrench. (The twisting flex negates the effect of the impact.) If you don't have a huge impact wrench, then this method may work:

Use a good breaker bar at least 1/2" drive, with a long extension so you can turn it outside the wheel well. If it's a manual transmission, you can try putting it in gear and holding the brakes, but the clutch will slip. Yes, it takes that much torque. You'll need to have a friend use a hefty screwdriver or something to hold the flywheel. If you have a 5 foot pipe to put over the breaker bar, great. Be sure to support the breaker bar with some bricks so you can torque it.

Easiest way is definitely with an impact wrench.

If you don't have access to an impact wrench, open the inspection plate or take off the starter motor. Jam something to keep the flex plate/fly wheel from turning and use hand tools to loosen the crank pully bolt. (Do not use this technique with an impact wrench, stuff can fly)

Standard lefty loosey (right hand thread) bolt.

If you don't have the tool then do what I did buy a chain wrench make sure it's a real good one because that bolt is really hard to get off but I would suggest you just go and buy the tool from autozone they sell the crank pulley wrench there. Theres no way of taking that bolt off without something strong holding the pulley .

All engines I've worked on turn clockwise when looking at the engine from it's front. Use a long 1/2 inch drive and correct size socket,wedge breaker bar to frame or other secure place,and bump the starter; bolt breakes loose,remove bolt with fingers.
WILL NOT WORK TO TIGHTEN!!!. Bolt will break off inside crankshaft before you know it! Then you're in real trouble. Use one of the other methods to tighten. When loosening bolt, be VERY careful where your fingers are. Engines eat fingers. Good luck.

It is a standard right hand thread.You'll need a good quality,powerful half inch drive impact gun and be prepared to apply it for several minutes.Sometimes setting the impact to tighten,give a couple of bursts then go back to loosen will do the trick.Be patient.DO NOT use a harmonic balancer puller,you'll crack the pulley.
