What kind of coat are you looking for ? Down coats are very warm. A faux fur coats are nice too, You have to go shopping with her. to make sure she likes it..

They have the best coats at department stores, like Nordstorms, Bloomingdales, and Saks Fifth Avenue. They come in high designer labels with the best quality materials, from wool, ski, canvas, and tons more. Also, places like Bebe and Armani Exchange are great selections as well. Bebe has the great fur edged, ski coats that are totally in style right now, and yet at a good price.

You'd be surprised but Target has some really "cute" (if you're a girl) "cool" (if you're a guy) clothes nowadays and at pretty reasonable prices. Check it out.
You can also try Gap, Old Navy, Forever 21, Charlotte Russ, even Ross if you go to Ross you have to make sure you have time and patience 'cause it's always hell of messy in there.

BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY!!! You can't go wrong. I don't think they use the "coat factory" part anymore because they have complete lines of women, men, and children's clothes. But I found the happening coats this winter there - prices ranged from $29.00 jackets - to $150 based upon the length and style of the coat. Go. Run, hurry....
