If you could tell me that, and even thiough this is totally unrelated, do you have any ideas for my biology project? Kinda like a science fair, but it should have something to do with biology obviously, and it has to have measurements in time. ex: do scented candles affect plant growth? and you measure it over like 3 weeks or something.
Any ideas? Big grade here. It will help bring my finals grade up...

Cloning houseplants is pretty easy. Go to your local garden store and find rooting horomone... you don't have to use it but it's faster and more survive. Pull a leaf off your houseplant, dip stub in funny powder, stick into prepared soil. You can prepare a lot of clones from one plant.
As for the biology project- you could utilize this. Make a legion of plant clones to experiment on... since they are all technically the same plant, you could run slighlty different experiments on each and observe any variations in reactions. Or, as you say time must be a funtion, you could start off all the clones at the same time, and use one in a test every few days. Like pigment concentrations- use chromatography. Grind up the plant, smear a bit of the greenish pulp across one end of a strip of coffee filter and set it in a solvent (alcohol would be best, but I assume you are still a young student, so you could use vinegar, perhaps), and wait til the leading edge of solvent reaches the other end of the paper. When still wet, measure the amount of each pigment. You will find yellow and orange, as well as green. Xanthrophyll, etc. Do some research, have fun.
