Does anyone know where I can do this kind of study? I will stay in London for a year, from August to July. University/school preferably close to Ealing, as I'll (probably) be living there.

I don't live in London/Britain now, so local papers/libraries is a bit difficult...

I have not decided yet if I want a full time or part time course. It doesn't have to be in Ealing, I just don't want to travel all over London to get to the school.

You should try City Lit near Covent Garden.
They do all kinds of courses from perfroming arts through languages to music and photography. I know they do a beginers course in digital photography but I'm not sure about other levels.
However, the best bit is that this adult education college is government subsidised so that for every £1 you pay, the government pays £2. My 12 week Spanish class cost me less than £70!

You are not clear in whether you want a full time or a part time course.
If you put "Short Digital Photography Courses in Ealing" into your search engine you will come up with a lot of results from Ealing Campus.
There is a Yahoo Group called Digital Photography Enthusiast Group.
They have members from all over the UK so you could get your question answered there better.
It is a good group site that has tutorials and also a weekly chat night.
Have a look.

ASK AT YOUR LOCAL TECHNICAL COLLAGE AS THEY SHOULD HAVE SOME PART TIME COURSES.I HAVE DONE A COUPLE AND THEY ARE VERY FOCUSED ON PHOTOSHOP CS,SO ANY PRE IMFO YOU CAN GET/DO ON THIS WOULD BE BENIFICIAL. THEY GENERALLY DO NOT GET INTO LIGHTING ETC,AS NOW A DAYS THEY EXPECT YOU TO USE THE EXCELLENT AUTO PROGRAMS ON THE CAMERA.ITS HARD TO FIND A COURSE FOR THE HANDS ON SLR TYPE PHOTOGRAPHY.PHOTOSHOP IS SUPPOSED TO FIX ALL AND CAN,BUT CANNOT COMPOSE THE SHOT NOR GIVE YOU THE FEEL OF BEING IN THE PIC.I WAS LUCKY TO GROW UP WITH SLR AND HAD TO WORK MANUALLY WITH LIGHT AND COMPOSURE. STUDY THE ANGLES AND LIGHT,WITH DIGITAL YOU CAN TAKE NUMEROUS SHOTS AT NO COST,DOWNLOAD ONTO YOUR COMPUTER AND PLAY WITH THEM.TRY PICASA2 AS A FREE GOOGLE DOWNLOAD,ITS VERY GOOD AND WILL HELP YOU MAKE THE MOVE TO PHOTOSHOP.ITS ALSO THE BEST FOR FILING.REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAVE 10,000+ PHOTOS ON YOUR COMPUTER YOU NEED THEM ORGANISED. (AND BACKED UP ON CD/DVD ) GOOD LUCK,AND REMEMBER LIGHT AND COMPOSURE/FRAMING AND EXPIRIMENT WITH YOUR CAMERA,ALL BEHAVE DIFFERENTLY.WORK ON THAT YOU WILL GET 2 GOOD PHOTOS IN A 100 AND 1 EXCEPTIONAL PHOTO IN A 1000.I READ THIS AND THOUGHT IT ??,BUT HAVE FOUND IT A GOOD RULE OF THUMB. NICE TO SEE YOU INTERESTED IN THIS FORM OF ART.
