What do you think about the President's and Republican's newfound "spirit of cooperation"? Do you think it's sincere, or is it only because they are now the minority party?

Of course it is because they are the minority party.

Just as the Dems pledge to work together with the Repubs lasted through the first week of November and now they pledge to pass legislation without letting Republicans debate or offer amendments.

One sincere thing: Bush will get his way on amnesty for illegal aliens now.

I think it's sincere because it's practical. In other words, if President Bush doesn't cooperate with Congress, he will achieve nothing. If Congress doesn't cooperate with the President, he'll start exercizing his veto power. It's also important to remember he does not have support from his own party on all issues, such as immigration.

His cooperation is two fold.

1. The false premise that Republicans working with Democrats actually gets them repaid at a later date.

2. Calling the Democrats on all their campaign promises of smaller government, less taxes, etc.
