Bi is short for Bi-Sexual. A person who desires sexual relations with either a male or female.

As a male, I wouldn't think of physical affections from another male. I have a male friend who wouldn't think of physical affections from a female. We are distinctly oriented.
In the old Sparticus movie is a scene with Tony Curtis, a new slave purchased by a Roman general who will be going out to stop the slave rebellion. The general (played by a very young Laurence Olivier, it was a 1960 film) has the new slave give him a bath.--something like this followed:
Antoninus, have you ever eaten oysters?
Yes
Antoninus, do you like oysters?

Antoninus, have you ever eaten snails?
