I wouldn't put the cart before the horse at this point. It's nice to have dreams, but many of the most qualified students don't get into either institution. Princeton only accepts 13% of applicants, as a reference point...while somewhere like UConn accepts 53% and many other large public universities accept more than that. Princeton and Yale are among the most elite institutions.
So, not only do you want impeccable credentials, you'll need something "extra" that they're looking for. Could be the major you're interested in, the musical instrument you play, the clubs you lead, the sports you play, etc. You may never know the "x factor" that gets you in... or what keeps you out.
I suggest you have some additional schools on your wish list, work hard and see how it all turns out.
Best of luck to you!!!

Princeton is a somewhat smaller school in an idyllic setting. Yale is larger, and is set in an urban area, although the Yale campus is quite nice too. I believe Princeton puts a larger emphasis on undergraduate education than does Yale, but I'd say you would be fortunate to get in either one.

I spent a summer taking some classes at Princeton and I loved it. Although Yale's a great school too, Princeton is in a safer area and has nice grounds. Add to that (depending on what dorm you're assigned) the dorms are really nice too. I would say that educationally speaking, they're probably about the same but I really liked the fact that we were so close to the train station to get into New York City.
I'm a little bias but I would say that you should check on getting into Princeton (and spell it right on your application for sure ;)).

Yale University is good. It's one of the best universities. Great graduate schools. The have better alumnis -- lot of American presidents attended Yale. There are also more things to do in New Haven. In addition, it's closer to NYC.

Depends on your personality and your attitudes. Princeton is generally has a bit more money -- so you'd probably find a lot of preppy kids. Yale has a bit of a mix of everything, and seems to be a bit more down-to-earth, but that's just my opinion. Essentially, for your undergraduate degree, just go wherever suits you best. Go on a visit to both, and whichever one feels better is the one for you (assuming you get in).

They are both equally good academics wise. So I would look at other criteria such as cost, distance from home, if you know anyone who goes to either school, athletics, or if one has a better or more interesting program
