I am looking for someone who has purchased a used car who found out through an accident that the airbag that was supposed to be there, was not, or filled with junk. I work with a coalition doing a news story about fake airbags and would like your story to use.

Here in Sydney Australia, one of the newspapers about two months ago did a story about steering column thief in a certain model Toyota Corolla. I can't remember the exact detail but about a dozen cars that been stolen and recovered with out the column because the unit comes as an assembly and costs about $3000 fitted (genuine toyota part only available). So even the smallest accident starts to write these cars off.

Bet it had been wreaked and instead of replacing an extensive airbag they just made it look good
