it said the way to negotiate with Iran about their nuclear program is:

Here is how it goes: I sit at the table with my US people with Iran and Syria. I tell Iran that I want to them to stop developing nukes. He says no. I say hope you packed as we bomb Tehran to a beach. Then I turn to Asad from Syria and ask him if he will stop harboring Hezbollah and murdering Christians in Lebanon. He amazingly says yes.

From Chainsaw's Guide to Diplomacy chapter 5

Is this the solution to dealing with Iran?

He never said Nuke Tehran ... while the nuclear bomb is the most devastating weapon on the earth, there have been bombings with far more devastation that didn't involve the atom bomb.

During WWII, Dresden and Tokyo suffered higher numbers of casualties and property damage than Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but the latter get more press due to the use of nuclear weapons. By unloading tons of conventional bombs onto Tehran, including their nuclear sites (where there is no uranium), Tehran can become a crippled shell of its former self.

As for China and Russia, China has established oil contracts with very unfriendly nations in Africa that are far more favorable to the Chinese than any current interest in Iran. Also, if Japan is allowed to step up its military and create a nuclear arsenal (which has been considered recently), China and Russia will not make a move since there would be nuclear weapons aimed at them from a closer range (remember, Russia tried doing this in the 60's by attempting to provide Cuba with a nuclear arsenal). Also, Russia would have additional nuclear weapons aimed at them from the eastern side with European nations such as Britain and Germany. This quells the nuclear response, since there have been bombings and combative situations in other parts of the world with political and economic interests of both sides during the Cold War and no nukes were ever used during that time.

It's time the U.S. Military stops fighting with one hand tied behind its back and blindfolded. If the military did not have to concern itself with trying not to offend anyone during a WAR and try to maintain a nice guy image, then perhaps the fighting would be over in Iraq already and other enemy nations and terrorist organizations would realize that the US is not to be trifled with.

During Kosovo, when the military forces went in, we didn't play around or hold back. When Slobodan Milosevic tried to make demands, we pounded the hell out of the Serbian forces. When they tried to be sneaky, we crushed their efforts quickly and efficiently. We didn't waste time with them and we finished the job with little collateral damage. And before you say it was a UN Force, it was only a UN Force practically in name, since it was almost completely US Military that comprised the fighting forces (I was there so I would know).

We are so worried about being politically correct and being everyone's buddy in the world (huge liberal view - and not a very good one at that) that many other nations look upon us with disdain and loathing. If we had someone like Teddy Roosevelt in office, then the rest of the world would be more cautious about this great nation of ours.

And then Russia and China rain nuclear hellfire down on the US for nuking their huge financial interests in Iranian petroleum industries. Brilliant, you've called for nuclear overkill.

They are not going to change their ways during the time they are diplomatically isolated. Such a policy can only lead to war.
