Maybe a couple of pounds of water weight, not noticeable though, and nothing to be concerned about. The pill does NOT cause you to eat more or use fewer calories.

You will only gain fat if you start eating too much and exercising/moving too little.

Also, if you are concerned about your weight and being fat think about how much weight you will gain with an unwanted pregnancy! Much better to be safe than sorry. Pregnant women get to feeling like beached whales by about month 6 or so, as do I right now!!!

The Depo shot is notorious for weight gain - it is different than the pill so don't compare apples to oranges. Some women do gain weight as a side effect from taking birth control pills - 5 to 10 lbs is probably the average. If you gain a lot of weight as a result of taking the pill, ask your doctor to switch you to a different brand.

I think it may make some people gain a little weight I took birth control pills and may have only gained about 5 pounds on them but if you exercise and eat right then you dont have to worry about that. The depo shot is what made me blow up and made my cycles stop I would never suggest the depo shot to anyone.

Many women will gain 5 pounds or so on the pill.
This can be avoided if you are extra careful about your diet and exercise. It's not automatic.
Pregnancy, on the other hand, ALWAYS causes weight gain, and a lot more than 5 pounds!

Try a low dose birth control pill. Ortho tricyclene lo is great. I never gained a pound on it and actually lost a few pounds (Not sure if that was related to the pill or not).

I never did and I took them from 16 till I was 19. I actually lost some weight....
I think it has to do with your state of mind. If you think you are going to gain weight you will.

Depends on the person. Sometimes it will make you gain, lose weight, or you will stay the same. It just depends!
