when i tried it on the store I didn't really feel the itch..then I bought it wore it in the car and walked around and it feels kinda itchy though i got a huge discount on it...so idk if i should return it...if i do im gonna be spending atleast 200 dollars more for a new one...so are they supposed be itchy...its not really itchy but pretty itchy its the material on the outside

Go ahead and take it back. A bargain is not a good deal unless it's something you really want. [I suffer from this bargain-itis myself.]
Is your coat made of wool? That's probably the problem right there. If your skin is sensitive to wool, it will make you itchy and then sweaty and then even itchier.
Wish I could give you an alternative fabric, but fortunately I live in Fla and don't need an overcoat often, so I just keep the itchy wool one in the front closet for ... exactly my point. I need to get rid of that thing!

No - overcoats are not supposed to feel itchy. If an overcoat is uncomfortable, then it is not a bargain no matter how cheap it is.

Check the label and see what kinds of materials are used - you might be allergic to something in the fabric like wool. If this is the case, it's only going to get worse for you.

I suggest you return it right away and check outlets or online stores (landsend.com, llbean.com or bluefly.com) for good deals.
