Every body and their brother wants a playoff system, except for the people who count...I beleived the BCS is run by a committee thats like..a couple university pres. maybe a couple ad's and its rotated every so often.

Regardless of who runs it, if the university pres.'s pushed for a play off it would happen.

I think it will soon, some university pres. are starting to actually hear the peoples complaints. I beleive I head the florida state pres is going to push for playoffs and i thnk i heard Miami as well. If they can stir up discontent in the South, the BCS will be done, the SEC and ACC are two of the major conferences in the BCS without them it sinks.

It just depends on when the NCAA etc. finds a plan suitable for their greed. They understand the people really want a play off but they arent gonna do it untill they can lock down a financial plan where they make a ton of money still

The first guy is right. There is so much money that goes from the 32 bowl games that 64 teams get by just accepting the bowl games and the winners as well as the losers get money.

The BCS is REALLY screwed up b/c of media voting and the bias there is towards the west coast. The midwest and east coast gets left out. Theres alot more media in SoCal and the whole west coast than there is over on this side of the Mississippi, this is why USC and Texas gets hyped up alot more than the LSU, Florida, or Auburn. Like in 2003 - LSU win the natl championship outright, USC wins the Rose Bowl which isnt the natl champ. game but they somehow get a very undeserved split. 2004 - USC win the natl champ. but Auburn goes undefeated and wins their bowl game (not to mention they are in alot better conference) and they dont even get a chance to play in the natl champ. game and they dont even get a split. Hmmmmmmmm wonder why?

The BCS is a joke and college football will never have a true champion until there is a playoff system....but as soon as there is a playoff system this will take away from the chances of teams who play in weaker conferences to win it all...such as teams from the Big12, Pac10, BigEast and then all the mid majors.

College presidents make the decisions.
They seem to think they'll get more money without a playoff. I don't understand that!
They say the players would miss too much class time. This is a bunch of crap. Every other division and sport has a playoff and they apparently don't miss too much time. It's all MONEY!!!

too much money involved in the bowl game system for the schools and the venders who sponser the bowls. There is no excuse for a non-playoff system like the current bowl structure. A playoff would be fair, equitable, and would not extend the season to be a burden.

From what I hear on sports talk radio etc, the decision is essentially with the university Presidents of the IA schools. The schools make a lot of money from the 32 bowl games, and no doubt they are afraid they'll kill the golden goose if you make the bowl games irrelevant.
