The new born baby's skull is in several pieces to facilitate passage through the birth canal. These bones then harden and fuse together as the baby ages and grows.

New borns have no knee caps. Those grow as the baby develops.

An adult has 206 bones. I don't know the number of bones in a new born.

a baby is born with 275 bones and an adult has 206 bones. The reason for the difference is because many of the bones described as single bones in the adult skeleton have not fully ossifed and fused in the baby. a few examples are the coxal bone, sternum and sacrum.

Babies have about 300 bones when they are born. As they grow, it gets even less and many bones stick together to form one bone. For instance, 2 bones might stick together and become 1 bone and then maybe even stick to another bone.

Wow, all I can say is that it's a very good thing that "God" doesn't exist. Those ancient Israelites conjured a psychopathic deity, but present-day God believers still insist that he is all-loving and all-merciful. Go figure. @ Esther - You've got a LOT of growing up to do, girl. Adam and Eve's sin is the reason your psychotic god made phuckked up humans? You cannot be serious! Edit: Wow. Looks like a LOT of Christians blame Adam and Eve for the sad state of the human condition. The more immature ones blame Satan! Wow. Ain't Christianity (in its 3,000 plus iterations) precious?
