can u rephrase that question. it doesnt make sense. But I THINK, I catch your drift. I dont believe America is arrogant anyway. America is a huge country, we are a tolerant country we are a country based on laws and judeo-Christian values. We are proud of our beginnings and our faith and our goodness. That is not arrogance at all. That is also not a false pride. We give more than any country and from our hearts, privately and from our government. We pput our soldiers in harms way to help bring countries to a democratic freedom, which everyone deserves and wants. We are the good guys,, we should be proud. we are also a huge country . In Europe, your countries are like our states. close together. We dont have the necessity to learn other languages because we rarely need to like they do in Europe. Is this giving u an answer that satisfies u? Obviously u have an impression of the United states that I really feel is a bit misguided. What Country is as tolerant of other races (not always perfect, of course) and RELIGIONS and cultures as we are in the US. after all that is what we are made up of, many many cultures in one country. bye.

Nowhere is this more evident than in professional sports. We invent our own games (football, basketball, baseball) then play not only within our country (Canadian baseball teams aside) but within what really amounts to the same company (NFL, NBA, MLB) then declare the winner the "world champion".

That's why soccer does not have the following that those other sports do. Because it is not virtually guaranteed that an American team will win every year. In fact it's virtually guaranteed they will not.

About the only place we really seem to be world leaders is in the movie industry (although I understand India is gaining ground fast) and in being self-proclaimed "liberators".

Meanwhile Toyota overtakes Chrysler and is about to overtake Ford and we've reached the point where Ford and GM are now considered junk bonds.

I had to laugh at Chainsaw's answer (we only hear about the bad things in the war). What good news does he have in mind, all the buildings we blew up at great expense and are now rebuilding at great expense? Good news if you are the company with the no-bid contract to make the bombs or build the buildings perhaps, but if you are the taxpayers paying for it, the Iraqi citizens or American soldiers wounded or killed, then not so much.

Good news indeed!

Americans are ignorant about world affairs because we have a large part of the Democrat party that believes cutting and running in Iraq is the solution. They also believe that we can negotiate and use the useless UN to sanction Iran into behaving. Wrong on all fronts.

Then we have a liberal media who perpetuates this fraud on Americans and constantly bombards us with all the negatives that can be found about the war in Iraq.

You can also blame Pres Bush for not communicating with Americans and setting proper expectations on war. I will not be too critical of him because I am not qualified to comment much on war. Many Americans think they are, but in fact are not.

You can also add the human nature of wanting to ignore harsh situations. We ignored Japan and Germany during WW2 and it did nothing.

.......Or, it could be that the rest of the world suffers from extreme envy and jealosy. Too bad they waste their time criticising the U.S. instead of solving their own problems.

The rest of the world needs the U.S. too badly to try to go it alone and I believe that fact really bothers them.

My advice, get over it and start doing something more constructive.

and everyone else is also quite ignorant about America. Let's be honest here. The solution is travel, interaction and a radical education.
