I am new to overclocking and need help with settings for my new rig.

Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel e6600
Mobo: Asus P5N-E 650i
Memory: Corsair Xtreme PC6400/DDR2/800

I have a CoolerMaster Aquagate mini R80 CPU cooler.

Not looking for anything too crazy, but I have read you can get this CPU up to 3.4 and I'd like to try.

Thanks in advance.

Okay, I am more than willing to help, but I am not going to type a whole bunch of info on here, because I have done this before, and people just ignore it, hence I waste a bunch of time. Email me, preferably with a Yahoo Messenger ID (its easier to do this on messenger instead of trading emails) and I will help you out.

EDIT: Okay I got your email, but when I tried to respond it said your email wasn't confirmed, so here is what I wrote:
The E6600 has a standard FSB of 266 with a clock multiplier of 9. 3.4 Ghz would mean you would have to raise the FSB to about 377. At this speed you would probably need to raise the voltage a little to keep it stable. Deciding how much involves a process of testing for stability. I could go into a lot more depth, but it would be more helpful if I could talk to you directly using messenger, but either way, email back with either a messenger ID or further questions and I will answer them.

That board has SATA connections. Now your potential grant is yet another tale. If it would not have SATA potential connectors, you commonly get one adapter interior the field for the motherboard. some SATA confusing drives show you how to connect the two form of potential grant connection to it. however the board won't cease you from using SATA.
