Fish Tank Filter?

I have recently inherited a Rena XP3 filter and 55 Gallon Tank. I have been trying to set it up but do not understand how the PVC pipes on the bottom are configured. Is there a diagram I can look at to help me understand better?

I don't know, but there are tons of people at aquaria central who use that exact filter.

You might want to try to manufacturer's website or contact the manufacturer. They can probably give you the best guidance for filter set up.
