Are you talking about the Chinese imported children's show which was actually just called 'Monkey' or the British adult comedy magic show from channel five which was called 'Monkey Magic'?
I remember the second one, which was fairly recent.
The first I was too young to watch when it was originally shown but I did catch a repeat last year.

We used to play it in the backyard with rakes and brooms. My brother was always Monkey.

I liked the show better when James Evans was alive; the writers so wrote his part like my dad;I remember times when I was young and my dad didn't want my mom to work and he always worked and provided for us; my dad died before Good times went off the air; but just watching that show reminded me of the good times I had when my dad was alive

Yeah, it wasn't bad for a Chinese series. Always thought the priest was a bird though.
