if you want a broken sword style adventure game then i recommend Syberia for the PC, which has a unique, beautiful style to it, with stunning backdrops and a heartwarming story. i consider it an amazing game and a work of art in its own right.
also to consider are the Discworld series of games, they are very funny if you have ever read the books i really reccomend it! just to hear Eric Idle voice the main character, he is brilliant. BE WARNED they will most likely not work on Windows XP... at least the first 2 of them are available on playstation though.

Broken Sword rules!!! There was Amerzone long time ago but graffics are really obsolete by now....
