There are several stories that fit that description. What I think has happen is your brain tried to put 3 different stories together in a dream..................... And that happens to many people.............

I have never heard that before, but I have heard the one where every time a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings.

Unfortunatly it is not a fairy tale. I have read all of the brothers grimm stuff and most anything else I can get ahold of and there is no place I remember no angles giving wings for another to live.

I haven't heard of it, but wouldn't the angel fly in circles after ripping off his wing?

In the Bible, death is viewed as an under form of an angel sent from God, a being deprived of all voluntary power.
