It actually makes me stop and wonder what the heck put me in a bad mood in the first place. Then it brightens up the rest of my day.

It brightens my mood every time I get a compliment unless that person has done something to make me mad and only gives me the compliment to smooth things over. Then it pisses me off.

Sometimes I ignore the fact that I recieved a compliment... But not intentionally ~ just if I am in a bad mood. But most of the time it makes me feel better.

I say thanks no matter who it is. Depending upon who the person is, I can feel a little better, or I can be bitter about it. For instance, if there is someone who is always giving what seem like nice compliments to you but they are really backhanded compliments or you know they are not a sincere person, then probably you wouldn't really be impressed by anything they said, right?

I will be proud if it was someone who i know who said it and I will respond "what a nice thing to say, thankyou. Or if you have no clue who the person who said that is he might be in love with you or it can be a person that you know. If you know the person that good you should go for a date with him. Then you will know what he really wants. You should be carefull, you can't trust anybody he probably will rape you or do something way worser than that. SO you should be carefull about the choise you make.

The guard in our office usually knows when I've had it! He will approach me with a comment (or compliment) just to distract me. Sometimes I'm bitter, but I also recognize he's just trying to make me realize that it's almost over (for one more day) and he will be there again tomorrow to remind me again that I'm just another day closer to retirement!!!

If I am feeling really sour, compliments may not do anything for me but a nice gesture may break the ice.
