Go to either your nearest Best Buy or Circuit City and buy a HP thats what I have and I've never had a problem

I live in Australia and so probably can't help you with where to buy one, but I always use Toshiba. We have a fleet of Toshibas at work and to this day I have never seen one break. One went in for repair but it was an abused child. One other got some food stuck behind the "J" key which we fixed in minutes, that's it.

although pretty pricey, alienware and apple make the best notebooks that i have ever seen.
