don't go too generic because believe me employers know when someone is feeding them a bunch or garbage, my mom has been in charge of hiring for sometime now and you should hear the stories she comes home with. instead, find something trueful that will show the person you are being honest, but make sure it is one that won't hinder you working there. say you don't socialize well, well if you are going into retail that person may not want to hire you because in retail you have to be a very outgoing person who likes to talk to people. i would go more for something that you can work on and improve at your job without it being the main part of your job.

I really think you need to be yourself on this & not try for generic responses. How many generic responses do you think employers get?

The important thing is to realize you weaknesses and show your employer that you are working on them or turning them into a strength.

If you're a slow typist, explain how you use programs like Yahoo to practice your typing skills at home or start taking a home typing course (they have them on computer). I actually have 'spelling issues' and use Yahoo and the spell check to practice getting the errors out of my spelling and I have improved. Some.

If you're not a strong people person, join a club or become more active at church to show how you are overcoming these shortfalls.

If you wanted to brave the storm and give some of your precieved weaknesses as additional details, perhaps the posters at Yahoo could give you ways to answer them & overcome them.

Good Luck!

I told a potential employer once that a weakness of mine is that I am not a social person on the job. I keep to myself and do my work. I said that some people consider that a weakness. I am paid to work and not to socialize. There is a time and place to socialize and the workplace is not one of them. I am friendly and cooperative to my co-workers but I don't party with them. I got the job so they must have liked what I said.
