The country of Iraq was formed after WW1 and it never should have been divided on the lines it was. To hold together such a diverse group (groups) required a strongman. The United States and Britain provided Him with the poison gas He used on the Kurds and against the Iranians. The CIA guided Him in his various adventures. The U.S. supplied him with many of His weapons of mass destruction. (that is how "we" knew he had had them). Short answer: NO

He was important enough for us to put him into power(ask the cia how we managed that),use him to commit attrocities(having supplied him with WMD's so that he may escalated the killing of the Kurds & Iranians with our blessing), & now that we are done with him, we can have him murdered and say "see we got the bad guy". I guess that makes him important...Where's the WMD's?
