I am putting halogen bulbs in my bumper lights, and rewiring them to be fog lights. Does it matter what size fuse (how many amps) i use in the positive wire, or how many amps my rocker switch is rated at?

No, they are 100 watt halogen FOG LIGHT BULBS. They do have those, you know. They are perfectly safe to use in fog lights, seeming how that's what they're made for!

use a 20 amp fuse just to be safe, and be sure to test how the bumper lights handle heat before using them in your car. And the rocker switch shouldn't matter too much.

THERE!! was that so effing hard, people?? you see how i actually answered this guy's question, and didn't completely ignore it and give him advice he's not asking for? yeah.

the two you desire a greater robust amperage score swap or ought to run heavier gauge wiring for the lighting fixtures furnishings. those lighting fixtures furnishings bypass from fifty 5 to a hundred and Up wattage, using 14 gauge twine reckoning on the wattage of the lamps, possibly the perpetrator, which i've got confidence, considering the fact which you reported that the wiring is melting, which of course exhibits there is way too lots cutting-edge drawn than it grew to become into properly designed to handle. I do pray which you have an inline fuse interior the circuit,if no longer positioned one in NOW or you would be changing better than 2 fog lighting fixtures furnishings.

the "bumper lights" are not resistant to the heat created by the high power halogen bulbs they will melt and possibly catch fire. you should replace the whole assembly(bumper lights) with a fully assembled fog light that will fit into the bumper cavity. And use the wiring and fuses recomend for the fog lights by their manufacturer.
