take the number of workers and there hourly rate multiply that by 2 then multiply that rate times 9 ........
3 workers@ 15.00p/hr = 45.00p/hr
(45.00p/hr would be the labor cost)then multipied by two would be 90.00 p/hr
(this second 45.00 pays insurance and taxes the little bit that is left is the contractors cut)
90.00 multiplied by 9 hrs equals 810.00 then you figure the cost of your materials and number of days the contractor needs to do the roof you should have a good idea of the total cost.

most residential roofs take no more than 2-2 1/2 days to strip and redo

if you want to figure out how much your materials will cost ask your contractor how many squares your roof is a square is 99square ft, find the shingle you want and multiply the cost of the shingle bundle times 3 the multiply that times the number of square of the roof the add one square for ridge of the roof

I have heard (from a contractor) that if you do 10 roofing jobs every year you would be well off.

Because roofing is not very easy, it pays pretty well.
