Macbeth is a man who is easily led astray, particularly by the three witches and then by his own wife. He is not able to stand on his own feet, even though he is a brave and powerful soldier. He is very ambitious and doesn't mind committing murder to get what he wants. He is self-centered and seems to have an inflated sense of his own importance. However, he proves himself to be weak in spirit. He does have a conscience as he is driven mad by his own guilt.

This is not asking for homework help, this is posting the essay question you are suppose to be writing about.

Here is a site to help

I found it with google. A quick google search of Macbeth characters will give you plenty to write about, or try reading the play. Use a modern text version if it helps.

Just a note on the above post.
It is bad luck to say macbeth in the theater - it is called the Scottish Play - in literature it usually or to say "Macbeth".

Wow. He was very complex. All the emotion and madness that was put into the character. You really need to read and reread Shakespeare to fully take it in.

I thought it was supposed to be called the Scottish play because it was bad luck to call it by that other name.
