Food Production, Medicine (production & distribution), Energy, & Social Classes are some major ones.
A few spots in the world produce the majority of food for the world. Fish is a shared resource. Some good benefits of this are: providing food to the less fortunate. However, one look at Africa, we can witness that we could share more. A negative consequence is "Droughts", "Transportation Issues", and "Disease" could leave many starving and hungry.
Medicine. Almost all Medicine is produced in 5 World locations. The "Flu" shots produced by these manufacturers will be the producers for the ALL of the World. An outbreak of the "Bird Flu" or other epidemic would endanger this system. We'd see problems with: Allocation of Medicine (Britain, USA, Africa, Russia, China) ... we'd all want medicine ... but the production would be limited.
Energy - Oil, Gas, Coal --- All of these resources are limited resources that are acquired by most scientists of producing Green House effects that will destroy Earth.
Social Classes - Separation between the Rich and Poor. War’s usually start when there are major disparities between social classes. We’re getting closer to the breaking point. CEO’s of major corporations getting 230 Million USD bonus checks … while the minimum wage is low in the USA and around the world. Certainly, accumulation of wealth is good, however, when these CEO’s fire 60% of their work force for Millions of dollars in bonus (Charles Schwab in 2002) … well, this separates the classes and eventually will bring unrest.

the first answe is very good. ont want to repeat.
just to add: the internet.
consequences are that those societies who produce their need outside their countries will depend on eachother. which means they have to decide who has the more power (who produce, or who use the needs ?!).
all this is particularry for first type of countries, and ivery well industrialized countries thanks for the globalization.
ps: BANK. MONEY. connects the best way countries. giving out loans, grants, etc... makes societies to deppend on eachother more.
