If you must know, for me if was the last day of autumn term. My parents got me a bangle which I lost at uni. It didn't feel like any other special day, to be honest.

I have never done anything special for any birthday! I'm 40 in march so is my friend. She's having a party and the family are going to Rome for a couple of days. It's all very nice but I don't get what all the fuss is.

Me, I had some friends over who spent the night. We watched movies, ordered pizza, and thought of silly games to play. Each of us made our favorite snack to have too! We pretty much did typical girl stuff that night. Ya know, did each others hair, put makeup on each other, and so on.

I think we even did stupid things like ran around the block in our p.j's screaming trick or treat even though my birthday is a week before Halloween. Yeah we got a lot of weird looks because my parents live off of a busy street.

I sat in the dark eating chocolate cake and drinking cheap champagne. Went to bed at 6:30pm. There was a powercut which lasted about three days. Usually on my birthday there's either no power, no water, snow, bad weather. Let's hope this year will be different!

My sister and brother-in-law let me use one of the warehouse buildings they owned for a private party without adults and I invited tons of people from my H.S. My DJ was the best too.

My ex crashed my party and some under cover cops tried to start some trouble, but It all turned out amazing.

My most standout memory of turning 18 was my parents sitting me down and saying "well if the state says it's okay for you to stay out past midnight (driver license) then so do we. We don't care what you do, who you are with, or where you are, but if you are not going to come home just call and tell us first." And that was about it.

I had a party at home.
My brothers friends crashed my party, which i ended up being grateful for, as my friends who all know each other didn't mingle.
