I don't thing SSA is trying to make you feel like a bum. They just have so many strict guidelines and rules that are unwritten. Some are so complicated that we could never understand their logic. Iam sure you paid in just like everyone else and working 37yrs entitles you to a certain amount ... but not life time benefits. Try to apply for EDD beneifits and SSA , you can collect both or which ever is more separately. It still will not be enough to live on so I hope you have retirement or a 401K savings or some back up , . Hang in there. Your not a bum. : )

Your problem is bigger than that..... SS was never meant to be a retirement plan, and those who pay into it are paying the current bill load, not putting it in anything for themselves. The huge amount is in the are of $600 per month.... lovely, huh? Thank the Republicans for this financial mess

Sound like a family trait. I sincerely hope that your children stop the curse of being bum from generation to generation.

That's unfortunate, but our facilities are run by people who should only hope that they won't ever need to use them like those who are trying through them. The only way for them to feel the pain is by having to deal with it first hand.
